Ms. Strauss is 26 years old, and her fiance, who is known as Max, is 25. They are law students at the University of Virginia. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University; Mr. Kennedy, of Harvard. They met four years ago at a Christmas Eve party. Ms. Strauss has been helping Mr. Kennedy run a summer camp for homeless children at Hickory Hill, the Robert Kennedy family home in McLean. The prospective bride's father is the chairman of the Pep Boys automobile parts and accessories stores, based in Philadelphia. Her mother is a television journalist. Ms. Strauss is a granddaughter of Mrs. Sidney Hudson of Los Angeles and the late Mr. Hudson, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Strauss of Philadelphia. The future bridegroom's father was the Attorney General in the Administration of President John F. Kennedy and a United States Senator from New York.
