New York Times
June 14, 1987, Section 1, Page 63

At the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton, L.I., yesterday, Victoria Francis Lawford, a daughter of Patricia Kennedy Lawford of New York and Southampton and the late Peter Lawford, was married to Robert Beebe Pender Jr., a son of Mrs. James C. O'Shea of Barneveld, N.Y., and the late Dr. Pender. The Rev. William J. Remey performed the ceremony.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Christopher Lawford. Her sisters, Sydney McKelvy and Robin Lawford, were matron of honor and maid of honor. Christopher Welch was the best man. Among the bride's other attendants were her cousins Kara Kennedy and Kerry Kennedy, and Dr. Suzanne G. Pender, a sister of the bridegroom.

The bride, who will keep her name, is a television coordinator for Very Special Arts, a nonprofit affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington that sponsors programs for disabled people. She graduated from the Lycee Francais de New York and Mount Vernon College. Her father was an actor. The bride is a granddaughter of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy of Hyannis Port, Mass., and Palm Beach, Fla., and the late Joseph P. Kennedy, an Ambassador to Britain.

The bridegroom, an associate in the law firm of Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle in Washington, graduated from Middlebury College and the Georgetown University Law Center. His father was a surgeon in Utica, N.Y., as was his grandfather the late Dr. Harold L. Pender. His stepfather is a retired judge of the New York State Court of Claims and a former New York State Commissioner of General Services.
